Hi Points Competition Information

 

Points are earned at approved competitions, the Official Points Booklet MUST be signed by the Judge, Ring Steward or Show Secretary only, booklets without signatures will not be accepted.  Horses entered must be shown in the name of the registered owner & entered in their registered name.  Horses must be registered in their correct division & owned by a current financial member of the Society.  Points may be earned in:-

 

(I) Inhand showing Youngstock 3 years & under or Adult 4 years & over

(P) Performance Ridden showing or Miniature Performance

(V) Versatility all other ridden events excluding showing & racing, i.e. Eventing, Show jumping, Hunter jumping, Pony Club competitions, Gymkhana’s, Endurance, Competitive Games, Harness & Western etc

The competition runs from 1^st August to 30^th June annually. Any booklets sent in after 1^st week of July will not be accepted.  Members who have ½ year membership will only have points counted from 1^st February to 30^th June.  All points collected during the year may be recorded in the booklet but a maximum of 10 competitions count.  Please indicate on the Point’s booklet which 10 competitions count in order for the Points co-ordinator to total the points.  If the horse is sold the points earned will remain with the horse

Merit, Champion & Honour Roll Award points is a one of; they can be accumulated over years.  Once you have received these awards, you do not get them again.  Once your horse has received the required points the horses name is published on the website permanently.  You must have entered the Hi Points competition for these points to count

Breeders Award - To recognise the Pinto Breeders efforts with the award of an Annual Breeders award. Members to nominate any breeder who is a financial member of the NZ Pinto Horse Society for their success of horses they have bred & not necessarily own, that are competing in any equestrian discipline.  This award should not be for a particular individual or horse but for an actual breeder

 

Sire Ratings Award To recognise the individual sire from progeny competing in Annual Hi Points. Sire & progeny must be correctly registered with the Society. Sire to be owned by a current financial member. Sire must also be recorded on progeny's registration cards in order to take part in this award.  Progeny's Hi Point total points to go towards sire ratings points’ total. Sire with most points is the annual winner. No entry is required this will be recorded each year along with Hi Points count by the Points coordinator. Closing dates apply as per Hi Points for this award
